About the film
"Yangshao: The Mythic Beasts of Shanhai" draws its creative foundation from Yangshao culture and Yellow River civilization, transforming painted pottery patterns, prehistoric settlements and Eastern mythology through immersive XR into enterable, interactive spaces of experience. Rather than merely viewing artifacts from outside a display case, audiences can touch the textures of painted pottery, witness the ceramic eagle and fish patterns awaken from the vessels, and mount mythical beasts to set out on exploration. The work seeks to take a seven-thousand-year-old civilization from static display into perceptible, participatory digital narrative, allowing the origins of Chinese civilization to be seen and understood in a more accessible way.
